PURPOSE: An e-mail transmitting and receiving method is provided to transmit or receive an e-mail easily at any computer by using a USB(Universal Serial Bus) memory device. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. An e-mail processing program is stored at a USB memory device, and data on an e-mail account is stored at the USB memory device. The USB is connected to a computer, and the stored e-mail processing program is loaded and executed if executing the program is requested. If receiving an e-mail is requested, the computer accesses a mail server corresponding to the stored e-mail account(S521, S523), the mail server downloads the requested e-mail to the computer, and the computer transmits the downloaded e-mail to the USB memory device(S525, S527). If transmitting an e-mail is requested, the computer accesses a mail server corresponding to the stored e-mail account, transmits the e-mail to the main server, and if the transmission is finished, also transmits the e-mail to the USB memory device.
