PURPOSE: An electronic copy system for a liquid crystal display device and a method thereof are provided to calculate the image realizing characteristics and an LCD and electric and optical characteristics of liquid crystal pixels without any fabrication of a real LCD. CONSTITUTION: An electronic copy system for a liquid crystal display device includes a graphic user's environment(910), a memory management module(930), and input/output composing module(950). The graphic user's environment includes a substance information management module(911), a mask layout composing module(912), a 3D shape defining module for liquid crystal pixels(913), a behavior calculating module for liquid crystal pixels(914), a light transmissivity calculating module for liquid crystal pixels(915), an electric characteristics calculating module for thin film transistors(916), an image realizing characteristics calculating module for an LCD panel(917), and a calculation result output module(918). The memory management module includes a project database storing element(931), and a substance information database storing element(932). The input/output module includes a project information file(951), a substance information defining file(952), a mask layout defining file(953), a 3D structure defining file(954), an LC molecules distribution storing file(955), a light transmissivity storing file(956), TFT characteristics storing file(957), and an image realizing characteristic storing file(958).
