OPTICAL RECORDING AND PLAYBACK APPARATUS

PURPOSE: An optical recording and playback apparatus is provided to effectively remove dusts and other pollutants from the surfaces of a slider loaded with a focusing lens and a disk. CONSTITUTION: An optical recording and playback apparatus includes a slider(10) loaded with a focusing lens(5) adjacent to a surface of a disk(20). The optical recording and playback apparatus projects beam to the disk through the focusing lens for recording and reproducing information. An optical catalytic layer(100) is formed on a surface of the focusing lens and the slider facing the disk. A reaction beam irradiating unit(200) irradiates a beam for generating a chemical reaction to the optical catalytic layer. If the reaction beam irradiating unit irradiates a reaction beam to the optical catalytic layer, the optical catalytic layer generates the chemical reaction for generating an oxidizing agent. The oxidizing agent oxidizes dust and other pollutant of surfaces of the slider and the disk.
