PURPOSE: A deflection device is provided to achieve improved quality of cathode ray tube and allow for ease of correction of unbalance of green electron beam trajectory. CONSTITUTION: A deflection device comprises a horizontal deflection coil, a vertical deflection coil, a separator for insulation of the coils, and a ferrite core surrounding the vertical deflection coil. The horizontal deflection coil or the vertical deflection coil is formed into a saddle type coil including a pair of lengthwise portions(12) and connection portions(14,16) for connecting the lengthwise portions. At least one of the saddle type coil is constituted by a first section having a direction same as the direction of the lengthwise portion and a second section having a direction which is vertical to the direction of the lengthwise portion. The second section is divided into arc portions having different radiuses.
