PURPOSE: Provided is a water softener being rapidly and effectively washed using a separator plate, and being capable of selectively performing washing and water-softening by moving a rod in manual. CONSTITUTION: The water softener comprises a housing(10) having a cation exchange resin(11) therein, a raw water supply pipe(12) vertically installed in the housing(10) for supplying raw water into inside of the housing(10), a rod body(13) installed under the housing(10), a rod(15) installed at a side of the rod body(13) for opening and closing a separator plate(16), the disc-shape separator plate(16) with a plurality of penetration holes through which washing water is supplied to inside of the housing(10) via the rod body(13), and a drainage(18) formed on the top of the housing(10) for withdrawing washing water.
