PURPOSE: A method for duplexing switches is provided to enable each line card to perform a manual switching process based on state information of each switch board transmitted from a main processor, thereby reducing cell loss. CONSTITUTION: When an interrupt is happened(ST11), a system checks whether a switch B is mounted(ST12). If so, the system confirms an alarm level of the switch B(ST13). If the alarm level of the switch B is lower than an alarm level of a switch A, the system performs an automatic switching process to the switch B(ST14).
