<p>The insert for placing on the bottom of a mould filled through the bottom and destined to float on the melt has the same shape as the cross section of the mould and consists of compacted blast furnace slag or mineral wool. The plate may consist of several layers additionally incorporating a combustible material layer an Al-foil layer and a flux layer etc. The plate is more effective than material thrown into the mould.</p> |
