PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display system for dividedly imaging optically consecutive high resolution images so as to obtain a high resolution even in a moving picture state, storing the divided imaged images within the same time, and displaying the stored images as images with a high resolution equivalent to that of a photo. SOLUTION: Four SDI signals each having the same number of pixels as that of an HDTV image outputted in parallel from a camera 15 are fed to a PCI board 18 and captured therein. Since the processing speed of a PCI bus is slow and a CPU cannot capture signals by one image pattern at a speed of an HDTV synchronizing signal, a memory provided in the PCI board 18 stores one image pattern of moving picture data as a still picture. The stored image data are read from the memory and transferred to the CPU in matching with the processing speed of the PCI bus, and the image data are outputted from a video card 19 as DVI (Digital Visual Interface) signals. A TMDS (Transmission Minimized Differential Signaling) receiver 10 and a liquid crystal controller 11 in a display card 8 convert the received DVI signals into display signals and a liquid crystal display apparatus 12 displays the display signals.
