PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup system and method capable of correcting a bug at replacement of a model in a disposal digital camera. SOLUTION: The imaging system comprises: the digital camera (DC); a Bluetooth (BT); a mobile phone (T); a mobile phone network; an image gateway (GW); and the Internet. The DC informs the T about a home page URL of the GW together with an apparatus address at authentication of the BT, the T accesses the informed URL and downloads a Java applet from the GW. The T executes the applet to be capable of registering charging and various settings with respect to the DC. The T inquires the GW about the apparatus address of the DC at registration to inquire of model information and can acquire a correction program for providing an optimum function by each model.
