<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for personal authentication used conveniently for an person to be authenticated such as a child and a person on a wheelchair short in stature compared with a usual person, and used conveniently for an person to be authenticated tall in stature compared with the usual person. <P>SOLUTION: In this system for person authentication for authenticating whether the person to be authenticated is the subject or not, using a face image, a terminal part 1 is set in a proper position with respect to the stature of the person to be authenticated, by moving, along a stature direction of the person to be authenticated, the terminal 1 for detecting the stature of the person to be authenticated using distance sensors 6a, 6b, 6c to drive control an elevation mechanism 13 in response to the detected stature of the person to be authenticated, and provided with a camera 2, an illuminator 3, an image displaying part 4 and a key board 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
