PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress variation in inter-cell voltages when charging/discharging a module battery or a battery pack comprising a plurality of unit cells connected together. SOLUTION: A charging/discharging controller controls charging/discharging of a module battery 10 comprising a plurality of unit cells C1-C8 connected together. When charging with the module battery 10, a capacity adjustment is performed for suppressing variation in capacity among a plurality of unit cells, with the voltage of a unit cell whose voltage is lowest used as a target capacity adjustment value at the start of charging. When the module battery 10 is discharged, the capacity adjustment is performed at such voltage as is lower by a prescribed voltage than the voltage of a unit cell whose voltage is lowest at the start of discharging, for promoted discharging.
