PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent battery exhaustion by reducing a consumption current in a mobile communication terminal. SOLUTION: In the mobile communication terminal during communication, transmission power is controlled to optimize power that is received by a radio base station, but predetermined maximum transmission power becomes the upper limit of the transmission power. The consumption current can be reduced by decreasing the setting value of the maximum transmission power when the remainder of a battery becomes small. In this case, when the mobile communication terminal is far away from the radio base station or the like, no electric waves arrive at the radio base station for preventing communication. However, the current consumption during communication can be reduced, so that it is an effective means in a sense for preventing battery exhaustion when the remainder of the battery becomes small.
