PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply manufacture in a short time an organic EL element that has an organic EL layer which consists of one or more functional layers. SOLUTION: By forming a functional layer 10b or the like, which is other than the one functional layer, on a transparent substrate 2 and/or a counter electrode board 6 beforehand, and by subsequently forming the one functional layer 10a between both the substrates on which the functional layer, other than the above one functional layer is formed, the organic EL layer 12 which consists of two or more functional layers, is formed.
