PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the durability of a locking mechanism and a sliding contact mechanism and accomplish smoothing, by obtaining a locking implement and a sliding-plate driving device, and a locking apparatus using them, which prevent the action of a wasteful force in sliding contact and reduce abrasion of a sliding contact surface. SOLUTION: The locking implement, which is equipped with a hook having an approximately triangular claw and a retainer fitting having a locking plate, makes an inclined surface of the claw of the hook locked to the retainer fitting while being brought into sliding contact with the locking plate; and the inclined surface of the claw is formed of a spline curve. The sliding plate 11 is equipped with a sliding plate 11 which has a receiving hole 11b and is freely slidable in a direction parallel to a plate surface, and a cam plate 25 which is protrusively with a sliding rod 25a and rotated around an axis parallel to the plate surface, so as to bring the sliding rod 25a into sliding contact with the receiving hole 11b by rotation of the cam plate 25 and slide the sliding plate 11; and the sliding contact surface 25c, where the sliding rod 25a is brought into sliding contact with the receiving hole 11b, is formed of the spline curve.
