Method for processing an electronic transaction between a client device (C) and a server (S) on a communications network, the said process being implemented using an intermediate device (P). The method has the following steps: receipt of an authorization request (RAT) including a first payment amount (MP); detection of any transaction stoppages between server and client; and transmission of a cancellation command if such a stop or check is detected together with a reimbursement amount. The invention also relates to a corresponding intermediate device, electronic transaction system, storage medium and computer program.
