Immortalised keratinocyte cell line derived from normal human skin tissues

A human keratinocyte cell line that is immortalized by means of a least one functional gene of retroviral origin. The cell line is non-tumorigenic, retains differentiation capacity and normal keratinocyte protein expression levels even after en elevated number of passages in culture. When cultivated in an organo-typical culture without serum or a layer of nourishing cells, the cell line forms a stratified and polarized epithelium having a stratum corneum ortho- keratinocyte morphology.
