METHOD OF CUTTING ELECTRODE PLATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of cutting an electrode plate to suppress a voltage drop of a lithium secondary battery caused by micro short circuit.

SOLUTION: Slurry made by mixing lithium manganate powder, carbon powder and PVDF is applied on aluminum foil to obtain a roll-shaped positive electrode plate. Slurry made by mixing amorphous carbon and PVDF is applied on copper foil to obtain a roll-shaped negative electrode plate. The roll-shaped positive electrode plate and negative electrode plate are cut so as to have a prescribed width by a circular blade 2 made of zirconia to make a hoop shape. Hoop-shaped positive electrode plate and negative electrode plate are cut so as to have a prescribed length by a scissor-type cutter the blade of which is made of zirconia to make a battery. Dendrite deposition of a metal ion from a negative electrode which is caused by chips of other electrode collectors mixed when cutting the electrode plates is suppressed.
