PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a software protect system capable of recognizing illegal installation even when illegally installed software is not simultaneously started by a plurality of data processors. SOLUTION: In the software protect system, a management station having an ID code list for storing an ID code specific to received application software (software) and normal stations are connected through a network, and when each normal station is started, the entry ID code of the software which is started or which has been already started is transmitted to the management station. When the same registered ID code as the received entry ID code exists in the ID code list, the management station transmits a start invalidating signal for ending the software corresponding to the entry ID code, and the normal station which receives the start invalidating signal stops the start of the software afterwards.
