PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict vibration, etc., which occur when a carrier removal member contacts an image support body and to remove liquid carrier on the image support body without causing ununiform removal of the liquid carrier nor image deterioration, in a liquid development electrophotographic device having a carrier removal unit that brings the carrier removal member into contact with the image support body and removes an excess of liquid carrier from a toner layer formed on the image support body. SOLUTION: A support point for supporting the carrier removal member is provided so that the carrier removal member can be rotated in a direction to be brought into contact with the image support body or separated therefrom. The support point is disposed on a parallel line passing through the center of the carrier removal member which is parallel to a tangent passing through a contact point where the carrier removal member and the image support body are in contact with each other. Alternatively, the support point is disposed within the range of 30°angle formed by the parallel line and a straight line connecting the center of the support point and the center of the carrier removal member that is in contact with the image support body.
