PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of properly displaying an image desirably confirmed by a user by properly controlling a display state of a display means. SOLUTION: An eyepiece sensor 42 senses an eye contact state when a user peeps in an EVF 41 and senses a non-eye-contact state when the user does not peep the EVF 41. A total control section 20 allows the EVF 41 to display a live view image when the user peeps in the EVF 41 in a photographing mode and awaits a photographing instruction from the user. When the user does not peep into the EVF 41, the entire control section 20 allows an LCD 5 to display an image photographed just before so as to bring a display state wherein the user can confirm the photographed image.
