摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source unit in which the ratio of an effective irradiation range against a distance between electrodes of a rod-shaped discharge lamp is possible to be increased. SOLUTION: In the light source unit provided with the rod-shaped discharge lamp and a trough-shaped reflecting mirror surrounding the lamp, a reflecting member is installed at the opposite side of the reflecting mirror as if the rod shaped discharging lamp is sandwiched, and the reflecting members is arranged so as to approach a light emitting tube of the lamp as the reflecting member moves closer to the light emitting region for the end part of the rod shaped discharging lamp, and then one end of the reflecting member is positioned closer to the light emitting region that the tip of the electrode of the rod shaped discharging lamp.
