<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique to make contact pressure between the image carrier of an image forming apparatus and a rotating member opposed to the image carrier nearly uniform. <P>SOLUTION: The drum main body 111 of a photoreceptor drum 110 abutting on a developing roll 142 is made a thin cylinder whose rigidity in a radial direction is much lower than its rigidity in a width direction, and constituted so that its both ends are supported by a cushioning supporting member 114, and the roll 142 is set to abut on all over the length of the main body 111.
