THERMOPLASTIC RESIN FOAM AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin foam having microscopic and homogeneous foam cells, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin foam is manufactured by impregnating a thermoplastic resin composition, comprising 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin and 2-100 pts.wt. of a natural organic filler, with a supercritical fluid under high pressure and then by decreasing the temperature and/or pressure for causing the thermoplastic resin composition to foam. The addition of the natural organic filler to the thermoplastic resin results in a homogeneous dispersion of the supercritical fluid throughout the thermoplastic resin during the foaming process for the realization of a thermoplastic resin foam with its foam cells microscopic and homogeneous.
