PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more miniaturizable electric connecting device easy to assemble. SOLUTION: A terminal 10 is used which has bidirectional insulation displacement slots 14X, 14Y formed at the longitudinal end so that a wire can be connected thereto in cross insulation displacement and a wire connection portion formed at the longitudinal rear end for connecting the wire 16Z in the same direction. The plurality of terminals 10 are incorporated in a single layer housing 20 in plane arrangement to form a single layer unit 22. The plurality of single layer units 22 are stacked in layers to form the electric connector with the bidirectional insulation displacement slots 14X, 14Y formed at the ends of the terminals 10 in lattice arrangement. Various connection patterns can be formed by changing the patterns of the wires to be connected to the insulation displacement slots 14X, 14Y of the terminals 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
