PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat image display device and a manufacturing method of an image display device that can reduce thickness and weight and can reduce manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: A vacuum envelope 15 comprises a first substrate 10 provided with an image display surface 16, and a second substrate 12 opposed to the first substrate at a clearance and provided with a plurality of electron sources 18.
