The device comprises one more or less flattened compartment (3) receiving a series of coins (8) successively and adjusted in width to the diameter of the coins (8). The compartment (3) consists of two walls (1a, 1b), a front one and a rear one, made of rigid plastic material, and of transverse walls (2) made of flexible plastic material, the flexibility providing the transverse walls with pliability (2) to allow the coins (8) to slide into the compartment (3), and enabling play of the front wall (1a) relative to the rear wall (1b) in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the walls (1a, 1b).
