PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic actuator of good space efficiency, small size and excellent performance. SOLUTION: This electromagnetic actuator is provided with a thick plate structure yoke 3 provided to construct a magnetic circuit, a square armature 2 provided to move in the yoke 3, a pair of operation rods 6 made of non- magnetic material attached on the armature 2, a permanent magnet 1 moving the armature 2 and retaining a closed loop, and solenoid coils 4a, 4b generating magnetic flux for increasing and decreasing magnetic force in the yoke 3.
