PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive material having excellent color reproducibility and stability in a dot area modulated color proof and capable of forming high throughput image and to provide an image forming method. SOLUTION: The silver halide color photosensitive material has on a support at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing a cyan dye forming coupler, at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing a magenta dye forming coupler and at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing a yellow dye forming coupler and is exposed on the basis of digital image data for dot gradation, wherein the yellow dye forming coupler is represented by formula (I), where Q is a group of nonmetallic atoms forming a 5- to 7-membered ring together with -N=C-N(R1)-; R1 is a substituent; R2 is a substituent; m is an integer of 0 to 5; when m is≥2, a plurality of symbols R2 may be the same or different and may combine to each other to form a ring; and X is H or a group which can be released by a coupling reaction with the oxidized body of a developing agent.
