PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance of a temperature protecting means so that it may be operable by increasing electric power up to the very limit of a temperature of a semiconductor element without stopping an apparatus or largely reducing the electric power in the temperature protecting means of the semiconductor element. SOLUTION: A temperature detecting means 25 and an input current detecting means 14 are properly selected by a negative feedback selecting means 28, and when becoming a temperature limit Tmax, negative feedback control is performed by a negative feedback control means 13 by selecting the temperature detecting means 25. When an input current is stabilized, the negative feedback selecting means 28 is changed to the input current detecting means 14, and the negative feedback control is performed on an input current by a saturation current Isat at that time to extract a maximum input current.
