PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, in which an underground obstruction interrupting a shield propulsion path and/or a barrier for an underground building is deteriorated, using the front of a shield machine as an external electrode without using special materials, in underground-tunnel excavation propulsion works by a shield tunneling method. SOLUTION: In the method in which the underground obstruction interrupting the shield propulsion path and/or the barrier 3 for the underground building is deteriorated, an electrolytic solution-filled section 8 is formed between the barrier 3 and the front of the shield machine 4, and a voltage is applied, using a steel core material constituting the barrier 3 as an anode and a shield-front device 4a as a cathode. In the method, the steel core material is corroded electrically and weakened, and the barrier 3 interrupting the shield propulsion path 6a is deteriorated to strength and a structure which the barrier can be excavated and broken by the shield machine 4.
