<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure an alignment between a laser element and an SHG (second- harmonic generator) element when an optical element on which the laser element and the SHG element are mounted is manufactured. <P>SOLUTION: The position of the SHG element 12 is adjusted so that the variable wavelength semiconductor laser element 1 oscillates with a wavelength 800 nm and laser light impinges on a waveguide of the SHG element 13 suctionally held on a collet 12. At this time, the SHG element 13 does not convert the wavelength of the laser light to 1/2, then a resin 4 for SHG element fixation does not set with ultraviolet rays. When the phase matching wavelength of the SHG element 13 is controlled to 802 nm, the oscillation wavelength of the semiconductor laser element 1 is converted into ultraviolet rays of 401 nm and the bonding resin 4 sets, so that the SHG element 13 can be bonded and fixed to a substrate 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
