PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform the remote control of a traveling object such as helicopter whose nose direction and horizontal thrust direction are independently controlled. SOLUTION: A remote controller is provided with a joy stick A for inputting a nose directionα0 and a joy stick B for inputting a traveling directionα1, and thoseα0 andα1 are transmitted as a radio signal such as an infrared ray. The traveling object receives and decodes the radio signal to obtain thoseα0 andα1, and detects the flying direction of the radio signal to obtain the relative directionβof the traveling object based on the flying direction. Then, a nose direction changing means is driven to make thoseα0 andβclose to each other, and controlled to automatically actualize a state ofβ=α0. Also, the traveling object is controlled to travel with its thrust to the direction ofα1-β. Thus, the traveling object is able to go forward with its nose direction facing the direction to which the joy stick A is inclined, and with its thrust to the direction to which the joy stick B is inclined regardless of the nose direction.
