A method of constructing a structural wall (1) from reinforced aerated autoclaved concrete ("AAC") panels (2) characterized by the steps of: erecting an AAC wall (1) from a series of reinforced AAC panels (2); joining adjacent AAC panels (2); applying reinforcement across a joint between adjacent panels on at least one face of the panels in the wall (1); and placing anchor bolts at the corners, wall ends or other locations on the wall (1) so as to create a structural wall (1), which can resist uplift and shear forces.
