<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element which is excellent in red-color purity, luminous efficiency, and durability, and a red light emitting material with high fluorescent intensity. <P>SOLUTION: The light-emitting element has an organic layer containing a light-emitting layer between a pair of electrodes, and a compound expressed with a formula (I) is contained in this light-emitting layer. In the formula, R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>, and R<SP>5</SP>express a hydrogen atom or a substituent. X expresses an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, and an N-RY<SP>1</SP>, and an RY<SP>1</SP>expresses a hydrogen atom or its substituent. RX and RY express a hydrogen atom or its subtituent, and at least one of them expresses an electron withdrawing property group. L expresses a joining group which consists of a conjugation. This m expresses 0 to 3, and Ar<SP>2</SP>expresses an aryl group and a heteroaryl group. Z<SP>2</SP>forms a ring with Ar<SP>2</SP>-N, and expresses an atomic group which consists of a methylene group, an alkenylene group, an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, and a nitrogen atom.
