PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bridge device capable of improving throughput. SOLUTION: The bridge device, in which two ports 202, 208 are provided and a plurality of transmission rates and transmission modes are switchable with respect to either or both of the ports, is provided with a bypass means for bypassing a frame processing section in the inside to directly connect PHYs (physical layer devices) 203 and 209 of both the ports if both the transmission rates and the transmission modes are coincide between both the ports 202, 208.
