PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver of an OFDM system which can perform subcarrier combination on each subcarrier basis and perform selective diversity control while not disturbed by identical-channel interference wave to thereby improve a reception quality in a multi-path propagation environment, and also a receiving method. SOLUTION: The system includes a plurality of antennas (10, 11) for a plurality of subarrays, a weight coefficient calculator (80) for calculating weight coefficients for a plurality of reception signals, a multiplier (81) for multiplying the reception signals by the weight coefficients, an adder (82) for adding the signals as the multiplied products together, an FFT (2) for converting the reception signal as the added sum from the time domain to the frequency domain to derive a subcarrier reception signal for each subcarrier, a diversity processors (30, 31, 32) for subjecting the signal to diversity control operation on each subcarrier basis, and a corrector (4) for correcting the amplitude and phase.
