PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing member for a plate-like heat insulating material which is arranged between floor joists, sleepers, or the like, under a floor of a building, and to provide a method for constructing an underfloor heat insulating structure using the bearing member, in order to prevent formation of a gap between a floor material and the heat insulating material when the latter is arranged between square timbers under the floor by attaching fixtures to the square timbers, the gap being formed due to dimensional errors of the fixtures and thickness of the heat insulating material, distortion of the same, and the like. SOLUTION: According to the method, the gap between the floor material and the heat insulating material is eliminated by using a member which elastically bears the heat insulating material at a location near the center thereof from below.
