PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly useful filamentary material made of a synthetic resin, having even straight sites though having bulkiness and diversely applicable, and to provide a method with which the filamentary material can readily and efficiently be produced. SOLUTION: The method for producing the filamentary material made of the synthetic resin comprises steps of injecting a molten resin 9 from an extruder 5 into the interior of a metal mold 8, continuously extruding the molten resin 9 from nozzles 13 provided in the metal mold 8 and thereby forming each straight fine filamentary main part 2. In the steps, the molten resin 9 in the interior of the metal mold 8 is made to intermittently pulsate to thereby integrally form knob parts 3 at a suitable interval in the straight fine filamentary main part 2.
