PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the service life of a fixing device and to shorten the first print out time. SOLUTION: In a means where pressing quantity of a fixing pressing member is variable and the pressing quantity is controlled, the control method for the pressing quantity consists of a routine which is high pressure before passing a nip→medium pressure when passing→low pressure after ejection of paper.
