PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device of a long life by preventing permeation of moisture or gas from an opposite section in the circumference between substrates and reducing characteristics deterioration by generated gas in the inside of both the sealed substrates. SOLUTION: The display device has a first substrate SUB1 which has two or more display pixels in the inside of a displaying area AR, and a second substrate SUB2 which is provided countering with this first substrate SUB1. Further, on the inside surface of the circumference edge section which counters the first substrate SUB1 and the second substrate SUB2, a rubber layer GS by which the display area AR is covered to be intercepted from external atmosphere, and an adhesion layer ZSL formed from a sol-gel solution prepared adjoining at an outside circumference of this rubber layer, are provided.
