The bone replacement implant is made from a wound strip of a supple material (20) to form a number of coils (22) with connecting lines (23, 27). The diameter of the rolled strip is greater than that of the bone to be replaced, and both strip and connecting lines are made from a biocompatible and resorbable material. The supple strip can be of woven, mesh or knitted fibres.
