The plug socket insert (1) has a device for preventing physical contact with the socket terminals provided by a longitudinal slider (7) having a main body with 2 side arms for closure of the plug pin openings and at least 2 integral resetting springs (12,13), extending from the side arms, each cooperating with a cam (5,6) of the plug socket insert. The slider is opened by linear movement along side guides (4) upon simultaneous insertion of plug pins in both plug pins openings, the springs providing an automatic closure bias.
