The sheet-guide (16) in a sheet-processing machine (1), especially in a rotary printer, guides the sheet being printed (12) by means of pick-up pieces (8) in the printer's circulating components, using blown air on an air cushion. The air cushion is produced by numerous free jet nozzles (22) positioned radially outside the pick-up pieces' path of movement. The free air jets (24) define a path of movement (14) for the sheets optimally at a tangent.
