Sleeve device (110) consists of securing structure rigidly mounted to semiconductor package (210), such that the relative movement of the structure is prevented. The heat is dissipated by the conductive material of the sleeve device during semiconductor package operation. A socket in the sleeve device couples optical transmission device to opto-electric receiver. The sleeve device and package are mounted on substrate as a unit. An Independent claim is included for opto-electronic connection system.
