The transmitter (TX) produces frequency-modulated optical signals carrying data (INF). Chromatic dispersion (CD) takes place as the signals are transmitted along the optical fiber (LWL) to the receiver (RX). The signals enter the receiver via a dispersion compensation module (CDC) which receives feedback signals (SCDC) from the receiver.
