PURPOSE: A midi file producing system by text data input is provided to input music like typewriting without using any expensive equipment nor any additional interface program, thereby simplifying the music input. CONSTITUTION: In a midi file producing system by text data input, track parts of a midi file are assigned with signals for outputting or stopping the output of sounds by main data midi events, and channels for outputting the sounds, together with the height and strength of the sounds. Length of the sounds is the sum of more than one delta time, the standby time assigned immediately before every midi events. The height of sound is represented by seven text characters and special characters such as # and [. The length of sound is represented by special characters.
