It is intended to provide a cell culture method enabling a high-density culture, etc. wherein a porous membrane 1 such as a membrane filter immersed in a medium is used as an anchor for the proliferation of cells 2. According to this method, it is possible to construct an environment closely similar to the environment in vivo where cells can three-dimensionally proliferate. By applying a negative pressure by sucking from the cell proliferation face 101 of the porous membrane 1 toward the opposite face 102 or pressurizing from the cell proliferation face 101 side, wastes (3) are eliminated and thus highly dense cells 2 (21) can be continuously cultured.
