The invention relates to a suction cup device with a cup-shaped supporti ng body (1) and a suction membrane (2) disposed within the cup opening of the supporting body (1) and acted upon at its centre by a pull-rod (3), the free end (3') of which extends through a central opening (4) of the supporting body (1), wherein at the free end (3'), a pivotal clamping member is hingedly connected about a swivel axis (5), which clamping member (6) can be pivoted from a release position (Figs. 6 to 9), through a dead-centre position, and into a gripping position (Figs 1 to 5). The invention provides that a resilient spring clamp is applied to the clamping member (6), with tw o interconnected arms (9, 9') which are mutually pivotable about a hinge axis, each (of the arms) having at one end a clamping jaw (10) and at the other end actuation portions (11), wherein the hinge axis (8) extends at right angles to the swivel axis (5).
