IMPROVED MEMBRANE BASED FLUID TREATMENT SYSTEMS

A process for removing soluble and insoluble inorganic, organic, and microbiological contaminants from a fluid stream employing a pretreatment module (2), a post-treatment module (4), a recycle stream module (5) or any combination thereof, and a membrane module (3). The process provided reduces the problems associated with membrane fouling and increases contaminant removal capacity.
