<p>A releasable coupling has a housing with an aperture for receipt of a member (14) (e.g. a portion of a hose) to be coupled and a deformable metal loop (20) retained in the housing and positioned so as to surround the member (14) to be coupled when the later is positioned in the aperture. The two ends (20a, 20b) of the loop member (20) project through an aperture (22) in the housing (10) and a lever arrangement (24) is pivotally mounted to the two ends (20a, 20b). By operation of the lever means (24) the effective length of the metal loop (20) can be varied, which in turn varies the diameter of the loop between a first value in which it engages the member (14) positioned in the aperture and a second value in which it is disengaged from the member (14).</p> |
